This Seoul itinerary for 3 days groups each day around one area: the historic center, Hongdae with Yeonnam, and Seongsu with Seoul Forest. It is an original planning framework for three full sightseeing days, not a claim that every stop fits between two nights and two flights.

Before choosing the order
Save your accommodation and check actual arrival and departure times. If the first day begins in the evening, use it for arrival and a nearby meal rather than squeezing in a full palace day. Leave the departure day flexible until you have worked backwards from airport and airline requirements.
Check closures before assigning dates. Gyeongbokgung normally closes on Tuesdays, with holiday exceptions explained by the heritage authority. HiKR exhibition floors close on Mondays. Put the central-Seoul combination on another day where possible, or visit only the open parts and move the omitted attraction to another suitable date.
Day 1: palace district, Gwanghwamun and HiKR
Start with Gyeongbokgung if it is open. Read the current seasonal admission deadline before choosing a start time; the last entry can be earlier than closing. Use the morning for the attraction you most want to enter, then leave a lunch and rest break rather than stacking bookings.
Continue with Gwanghwamun and, if operating, HiKR GROUND near Cheonggyecheon. Our HiKR GROUND guide explains its address, exhibition hours and separate fifth-floor arrangements. Treat the outdoor stream section as optional if weather or access conditions are poor. An indoor exhibition is a separate decision from a walk outside.
Day 2: Hongdae and Yeonnam
Keep this day in the Hongik University area rather than adding a cross-city palace detour. Choose the shops, music-related stops or cafés that matter to you, save their Korean names and check each business’s current opening notice. A neighborhood being lively does not mean every shop opens at the same hour.
Pair Hongdae with Yeonnam and the Gyeongui Line Forest Park area as the weather permits. Set one anchor stop, a meal and a flexible browsing period. If a birthday café or pop-up is the reason for visiting, confirm its event dates and admission rules rather than relying on a permanent map pin.
Day 3: Seongsu and Seoul Forest
Choose a Seongsu interest first: a confirmed exhibition, a current pop-up or browsing the area’s shops. Then pair it with Seoul Forest when conditions suit a park visit. Visit Seoul identifies Seoul Forest access from the Suin–Bundang line’s Seoul Forest station and line 2’s Ttukseom station.
A park’s general access and its individual gardens, exhibitions or services can have different hours. Check the facility you want instead of assuming every indoor attraction follows the park schedule. Keep one indoor alternative with a verified opening day if the weather turns.
Use three anchors, not a packed checklist
For each day, select one must-do, one meal area and one optional stop. Add the route from your hotel and back using your actual dates. The aim is room for queues, rest and changes, not an untested promise of a fixed number of minutes between every stop.
This also keeps the itinerary useful when a business closes or an event ends: replace the optional stop within the same area. Do not move a tightly booked activity to the other side of Seoul just to keep a list intact.
Budget and prepare by category
Separate transport, attraction entry, meals, shopping and a reserve. Check a paid attraction’s current ticket rules before allocating money; do not assume a festival exemption will apply throughout the year. For K-pop shopping, decide a limit before browsing so the transport budget remains available.
Use NAVER Map English guide to prepare the route interface. Save Korean destination names, a return route and one rain alternative per day. This is a desk-researched suggested itinerary, not a first-hand account or a measured accessibility route; verify your specific dates with the official sources.
